Never in a million years would I have guessed my husband and I would play in a tennis tournament! We really enjoy the game, and the friends we have made along the journey.
You might recall, I played doubles tennis on court 3 "Tennis in Paradise" illustrated below.
(Original Oil painting I painted live during a previous year's charity tournament.) It hangs in our home gallery as a reminder of this scenic spot.
And just before COVID, I fell and broke my arm while trying to hit an overhead lob. My skills were not great....and it was a challenge to work in the kitchen with the purple cast on my arm. Even something as simple as juicing fruit! Two hands needed - hold and cut.
But I played again ASAP and played as much as I could with my lady friends and my husband, always trying to get in better shape and achieve better skills.
Here we are! John (on the far left) and I (blue hat) Won! (ok, we won 2 games out of 14...yes, that really means we were the losers, but we had a lot of laughs) This is our tennis "Tribe" as we call it, there are many others we play with but not all played in the tournament.
We were told to remember the good games; simple to do...there were very few. We were out matched, but had fun and made new friends!
All's well when the weekend event ends with an evening party. Dining, dancing, and talk story. Good friends, good times.....good showers....
....And Chardonnay. Will we do it again? Maybe! Check back in Nov. 2025.
#Tennis #Tournament to benefit #Mauistrong and the #Maui #firefighters was a fun time at #Waileatennis for a good #charitable #cause. We needed a #Longhotshower at the end of our #first #tennistournament ever.
